Student DependantRegistration

FROM 1 SEPTEMBER DEPENDANTS CAN STAY ON THEIR PARENTS COVER FOR LONGER

To make healthcare more affordable for our members, we’re implementing recent government reforms to let dependants stay covered on their family’s health cover for longer. From 1 September 2022, you'll be able to keep dependants on your family’s health cover until they turn 31.

We’re getting in touch with members who have eligible dependants to let them know about this change and the options available to keep their dependants covered.

See the FAQs for more info

HOW IT WORKS

To apply, you must be an HCF member and your child must be a full-time student.

Your child must also be:

  • aged between 22-24 (up to the day before they turn 25, this will change to 31 from 1 September 2022)
  • unmarried
  • not in a de-facto relationship
  • relying on you for maintenance and support.

Take a moment to read the ‘Who’s covered’ section on our cover FAQs.
