WHY USE THE SNUG APP?

Staying on top of your health or the health of loved ones can be daunting, confusing and complex. So we've partnered with Snug Health, to help make managing the health and wellbeing of the whole family, simple and seamless.

GAIN CONTROL OF YOUR HEALTH AND WELLBEING

HCF members can access a free customised Snug subscription trial*, including:

  • a questionnaire to help identify health issues and find the right support for you^
  • a virtual coach chatbot that can suggest HCF wellbeing resources based on your needs. Participation in Health and Wellbeing programs is subject to eligibility criteria.
  • the Circle of Care function to help manage your family’s health, like immunisations, doctor appointments and medications
  • tracking your child's vaccinations, growth development and milestones
  • staying on top of your parent’s appointments and medical needs
  • integration with personal health devices, so you can monitor your fitness progress or keep track of sleeping patterns
  • an easy and fast view of your medical history and summary, your physical health activity or Health Notes
  • the ability to upload and preserve medical histories to monitor your health over time
  • SMS alerts to yourself and your Snug emergency contacts for abnormal readings, such as blood sugar~.

HOW TO SIGN UP TO SNUG

  • Log into the My Membership app or Online Member Services.
  • Navigate to 'My Health'. Once you've learnt about Snug, click 'Register now'.
  • The Snug secure registration page will appear, click 'Sign in' to complete your registration.
  • Once registered, click 'Download the app' and sign in to start the Snug journey to better health and wellbeing.

Whether you want to track your medications, keep on top of your parent’s health appointments or check your child’s vaccinations, Snug makes it easy for you to manage your health, and the health of your family, by consolidating the whole family's’ medical history and data in one secure app.

Snug connects you with information and programs to support you on your way to better health. The Circle of Care tool allows you to share and/or access medical information with family members and health professionals. It can also create alerts so you can be notified if your child has an upcoming medical appointment or a parent has elevated blood sugar levels.

The handy Health Notes function lets you make voice recordings at appointments for things like medication instructions, or take a photo of a suspect mole ahead of your next skin check.

You also don’t need to be unwell to make the most out of Snug. You can use it to set health goals by tracking sleep or linking to your wearable fitness device at your next gym session.

FAQS: SNUG

Can HCF access my Snug account?
HCF won't have access to information you store or share on Snug, or be notified when you've downloaded the Snug app. HCF also won't send any of your details or information to Snug.

The only information Snug Health will receive is the personal and health data you provide about yourself and your family, when you register to use the Snug app. Snug Health will manage your information in accordance with their privacy policy here.

How much is a Snug subscription?
The HCF customised Snug app is free for all HCF members with a health insurance product (excluding Overseas Visitors Health Cover) for a trial period that ends on 21 March 2022*. Thereafter, HCF may choose to extend the offer or at the end of the trial, your account will revert to the standard offer. Members may also choose to downgrade to the Snug Lite version at no charge.

How do I know my Snug data is secure and protected?
If you click through to the Snug registration page from our app or Online Member Services, you’ll be taken to a secure webpage only available to HCF members. Snug solely operates within Australia, so all privacy and data collection complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Any data you store with Snug is private and will not be shared with us at HCF. You can read more on Snug Health's privacy policy here.

What’s Circle of Care?
Snug's Circle of Care means you can share and/or access medical information with family members and health professionals (with consents) to provide easy access to yours and your loved one's health records.

How do I add on and take off people from my Circle of Care?
You can both add on and take off people from this tool at any time. If you're adding someone like a partner or parent who don't have a Snug account already, you can upload the information for them into your account (with their consent). If you're adding someone who does have a Snug account, you’ll need to go to the permissions settings in the main menu to request access to their data.

Children over the age of 14 can have their own Snug account and will need to give permission to allow access to their health information. If you have trouble, please email support@snughealth.com.au

What are my Health Notes?
Health Notes allow you to keep all your notes in one handy place. For example, you can make voice recordings at the physiotherapist about your at-home strengthening exercises, or snap a picture of a rash for later reference.

Where do I download the Snug app?
The app is available from both the App Store and Google Play. To access the free subscription*, go to our My Membership app and tap on 'My health' as soon as you log in. Then, tap on 'Register now' to be taken to a secure Snug page only available to HCF members. Once registered you'll be able to download the app onto your device.

How do I know if I’m eligible to access the Snug app and its services?
All members above the age of 14 who hold a HCF health insurance product (excluding Overseas Visitors Health Cover) can enjoy free trial access to the customised Snug app at no cost*. Get in touch with the Health and Wellbeing team at wellbeing@hcf.com.au

I have a Snug account or already have the app downloaded to my device. How do I get free HCF customised Snug subscription?
Follow the sign up instructions and at the registration page, instead of completing your registration details again, go to ‘Already have a Snug account?’ and click ‘Log in here’. Enter your existing account details and you’ll be ready to start your free HCF customised Snug experience.

How do I know I am getting the HCF customised Snug subscription?
One of the Snug features only available to HCF members is the virtual coach chatbot. If you’re logged in as an HCF member, the chatbot should pop up asking you to choose one of three Avatars. The Avatar you choose will answer your questions and refer you to HCF health and wellbeing resources and services which will be subject to your eligibility to access those services. You’ll see the Avatar you choose on the top right hand corner of the screen and can access it at any time.

*All HCF members above the age of 14, who hold any HCF health insurance product (excluding Overseas Visitors Health Cover) are eligible for a customised Snug subscription trial at no cost, from 22 March 2021 until 21 March 2022. At the end of the trial, your account may revert to the standard Snug offer for all Australians, which will be $9.99 per month for a Single Plan and $16.99 per month for a Family Plan (up to 5 users). HCF may choose to extend the offer upon written notice to its members.
