Your hospital stay
You’ll probably be allowed to go home once you’ve recovered from the sedation or anaesthetic. Sometimes the surgeon will decide to keep you in for observation for one or two days. As you’re not allowed to drive, you’ll need someone to drive you home.
Unless you’ve had a ligament reconstruction, you should be able to return to most physical activities after six to eight weeks.
During your recovery you’ll need regular physiotherapy and an exercise program. This will help to get your knee working properly.
