When your surgery is finished, you’ll be taken to the recovery room.
Your vital signs (blood pressure, pulse and breathing) will be monitored to ensure they’re stable.
Then, as long as you’re breathing, sleeping and drinking well after a few hours in the recovery room, you’ll probably be allowed to go home.
In some cases, such as when obstructive sleep apnoea is proven or suspected, you’ll be required to stay in hospital overnight.
