Your hospital stay
You’ll usually be kept in hospital overnight.
Watching out for infection
Signs of infection in the wound may include redness, heat, swelling, discharge and increased pain. If you think the wound might have become infected, contact your cardiologist immediately.
See your GP to have your stitches removed 10 days after surgery.
You should avoid lifting weights and vigorous movement on the operated side for 3-4 weeks.
Your cardiologist will need to check that your device is functioning properly at regular intervals.
