HCF Catalyst graduate brings its eyecare vision to Tamworth

Sydney, 24 May 2018 - One of the latest graduates from HCF’s Catalyst program, Dresden Optics, will bring its innovative mobile eyecare clinic to the Tamworth community this month, providing free vision screening, comprehensive eye exams and affordable, on-the-spot eyewear options.

In partnership with HCF Tamworth branch, the Dresden Optics mobile eye clinic will set up in town from 29 May to 2 June 2018. Tamworth residents are invited to have their eyesight screened for free with potential for a full, bulk-billed eye-test if required. For those who require glasses, Dresden’s innovative, affordable frames and lenses can be fitted on the spot.

Dresden Optics is a recent scaleup graduate from HCF Catalyst – a health technology accelerator program which was created to attract the brightest minds in the startup and scaleup community. The Dresden team have just completed a 12 week, intensive program where they received mentoring from prominent health and technology industry leaders.

Dresden Optics offers a modular glasses system in multiple sizes and colours, so it can be customised for each individual. The scaleup business was chosen to participate in the Catalyst program as it aligned with HCF’s vision to make healthcare more affordable, high-quality and customer centric. Dresden makes this possible with its high-quality prescription glasses starting at $49, with complete glasses made to order in 15 minutes.

HCF Tamworth branch manager Matthew Hillam said that Dresden’s innovative eyecare offering and agile set-up allowed the business to “scale up” by bringing its services to local communities.

“Dresden’s focus is on educating customers about eye health, helping them understand their health needs and how to get the most out of their eyewear. HCF’s local branch network enables us to have similar in-person conversations with our members and the broader community about their healthcare needs.

“It’s great to be able to bring Dresden Optics’ mobile eyecare clinic to Tamworth, so that local residents can have easy, first-hand access to the service. Having offered our members free heart health checks in branch for over five years thanks to our partnership with the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, we’re really pleased to be the first HCF branch to offer these free, face-to-face eyecare consultations.”

Dresden Optics’ mobile eyecare clinic complements its online store and its five retail stores in Sydney. They are a recognised HCF “More for Eyes” provider.

The Dresden Optics mobile eyecare clinic is open to all local residents. To make an appointment and secure a spot, visit http://dresden.com.au/locations/tamworth/
