Your surgery

You’ll be taken to the procedure room and made comfortable.

Your surgeon will do either open or keyhole surgery. No one approach is suitable for everyone.

Your age and health, the size of your hernia, its location, your surgeon’s skills and whether it’s unilateral or bilateral will determine the surgeon’s approach.

After surgery, the wound will be closed with stitches, Steri-Strips®, or staples.
