GIANTS Netball reach the grand final in their inaugural year

Sydney, 16 June, 2017:  HCF, Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund and first Principal Partner of GIANTS Netball, is excited to be supporting the team as they prepare for the Grand Final and their final match in their inaugural year in the competition. GIANTS Netball will take on Sunshine Coast Lightning, also in their debut season, at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 17 June.

HCF are supporting the team for the second critical away from home match in their finals campaign. GIANTS Netball wowed the crowd in Melbourne over the weekend, beating the Melbourne Vixens and confirming their place in the Grand Final. HCF is giving away tickets to the match on Facebook for their members and HCF staff are sending messages of support to the team, as they prepare for what might be the toughest match of the year. HCF will also be naming GIANTS Netball ‘most valuable player’ of the year, at a Gala Event at Australian Technology Park, on Friday 23 June.

HCF joined GIANTS Netball family at the beginning of the 2017 Suncorp Super Netball season, supporting the team throughout the highly contested competition.

Chris Rawlins, Chief Marketing Officer, HCF, congratulated the team on reaching the Grand Final, saying: “GIANTS Netball has shown true grit and determination this year and been rewarded with the chance to take home silverware in their very first season. We’re so proud to be part of this incredible journey and have been inspired by them.”

“We wish them the best of luck on Saturday night when they take on the Sunshine Coast Lightning, also new to the competition. I’m sure our members and our employees will be cheering them on from the sidelines.”

Netball is the premier female sport in Australia and Netball NSW, who backs GIANTS Netball, has more than 115,000 members. This season the Suncorp Super Netball competition has drawn record audience numbers both in stadium and on air.
