How’s my cover changing?

It depends whether you have hospital, extras, or both – and your level of cover.


Any changes will reflect the category your new cover fits into: Gold, Silver, Bronze or Basic. To meet government requirements for that category, some treatments or services may be added to your cover, others may have to be removed.

While making these necessary changes, we've done our best to consider your needs, affordability and the value you'll get from your cover. 


As of April 2019, we were no longer be able to pay benefits for certain natural therapies under extras cover. This goes for all Australian health funds.

When will you let me know about changes to my cover?

It depends which type of cover you’re on. Some products already transitioned in April 2019, others are changing in April 2020 – the government deadline for completing the changes. If your cover is changing in April 2020 you’ll hear from us by early March. You will know if your hospital cover falls under the Gold, Silver, Bronze or Basic categories.

Can I expect a lower premium increase this year?

We’re committed to passing on savings from the reforms wherever we can. As Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund, we always try to deliver the best possible value and benefits. We’ll continue to do that in 2020 and in the future.
