LISMORE SHOW GOES DIGITAL WITH THE HELP OF HCF

Lismore, 13 October, 2016 – HCF, Australia’s leading not-for-profit health fund, has partnered with this year’s Lismore Show to offer a fully interactive, digital experience for show-goers.

From 20-22 October, HCF will be hosting a number of sites around the Lismore showgrounds, including the HCF Health and Lifestyle Pavilion, ‘Bike-n-Blend’ juice stations, and ‘Shade Pod’ chill out zones.

The Lismore Show has been a staple of the community for 131 years, offering true country entertainment for all ages. This year, HCF is helping the Show move into the digital age, with free Wi-Fi available at the HCF Pavilion and an immersive digital experience sure to delight show-goers.

HCF’s Health and Lifestyle Pavilion will include interactive motion screens, where users can take quizzes and do activities on fitness, mental health and quitting smoking, all while learning about their own health and the tools that HCF offers members. The Pavilion will be hosted by former B105 Brisbane radio presenter, Peter Buckley, and qualified personal trainers will be on hand to answer any questions from visitors.

Show-goers can visit HCF’s ‘Bike-n-Blend’ juice stations, where adults and children can peddle to blend their own juices. The stations also offer a virtual experience, with visitors being able to plug their phones into virtual reality glasses to watch videos.

Four HCF ‘Shade Pod’ chill-out zones will also be spread out across the showgrounds, offering visitors a cool place to rest in between the festivities of the day.

Show spokesperson, John Gibson, says: “The Lismore Show has always been a family-friendly community event, celebrating our rich and productive district. This year will be no different, but now with the help of HCF, we’re also able to provide free Wi-Fi access in selected areas and some interactive digital experiences for our 30,000 visitors, that are both fun and educational.”

HCF’s Lismore branch is fully supporting the Lismore Show, selling discounted pre-event ride tickets for the Show to the local community. Regional Manager of HCF Lismore, Peter Schofield, says:

“We’re so excited to be working with the Lismore Show this year. Our branch has been part of the community for 30 years, and our branch staff have been enjoying the Show for many years, so it’s great to be a part of it with the fantastic digital activations from HCF. It’s a wonderful approach to educating visitors in a fun, interactive way, empowering them to take charge of their own health.

“We encourage everyone, even if you’re not an HCF member, to pop in to our branch in Lismore and collect some discounted ride tickets ahead of the big day.”
