HCF CATALYST

DRIVING INNOVATION IN HEALTH TECH

HCF Catalyst is Australia’s first corporate supported health tech accelerator program. It’s designed to help startups and scaleups* transform their innovative health and wellness ideas into investment-ready businesses.

HCF, in partnership with corporate startup accelerator Slingshot, has been running the Catalyst program since 2015. During the 12 week program, participants receive mentoring, marketing advice and seed funding. Ultimately, the program teaches them how to demonstrate the value of their e-health solution and make their business investor and customer ready.

The final stage of the program is Demo Day, where HCF Catalyst graduates showcase their health tech ideas to an audience of potential investors, industry opinion leaders and healthcare stakeholders.

THE FUTURE OF HEALTHCARE

As the health industry grows and evolves, we’re committed to investing in initiatives focused on improving the affordability and effectiveness of healthcare in Australia.

Our Catalyst program attracts some of the brightest minds in health tech. To participate in the program, Catalyst ideas need to align with at least one of the below themes:

  • making healthcare more affordable
  • making healthcare more understandable
  • delivering high quality healthcare
  • making healthcare more customer centric
  • supporting operational excellence in private health insurance.

CURO

Curo Technologies were part of the first cohort of HCF Catalyst startups. Their sensor technology monitors the activity patterns of elderly people in their homes. The data is then sent to loved ones and carers through an app, providing real time reassurance of their wellbeing.

HCF is funding 250 members to trial the Curo technology in their homes for 12 months. We want to find out whether the technology has a positive impact on the wellbeing of seniors and reduces costs associated with their care.
