Going toHospital

You’ll be admitted to hospital on the day of your surgery. Depending on the extent of your surgery, you may either go home the same day or you may spend several days in hospital.

If you’re having a general anaesthetic, you’ll need to fast for 6 hours prior. You may have to fill out a consent form if you haven’t done this already.

Waiting to go into the operating theatre

Expect to wait around for a while as you may not be first on your doctor’s surgery list.
