100% back on popular extras
HCF members can get 100% back at participating extras providers in our No-Gap More For network for a dental check-up or a first visit to a physio, chiro, osteo, and podiatry consultation providing you’re on an eligible level of HCF extras cover and haven’t hit your yearly limits.
Innovators working for you
As a not-for-profit health fund, HCF puts its profit into initiatives to help members, including supporting new health-tech ideas through our Catalyst program.
We’re proud to have helped launch:
- Birth Beat: online childbirth courses, delivered by a registered midwife and educator, help you prepare for a safe birth experience.
Support through pregnancy
Eligible members can claim on a range of programs and services for support through pregnancy and after birth, including childbirth education classes, breastfeeding consultations, and antenatal and postnatal group physio*. You may also be able to claim on pregnancy compression garments and breastfeeding support from the Australian Breastfeeding Association*.
In an Australian-first, HCF is offering eligible members our No-Gap Pregnancy package^. From the first scan to the moment your baby enters the world, HCF and Sydney Adventist Hospital (The San) are proud to guarantee no out-of-pocket costs for parents when they join the package, which includes ultrasounds, obstetrician fees, anesthetist costs, delivery suite and theatre costs^.
HCF My Family Silver Plus packages meet your needs as your team grows with cover for pregnancy and birth, and extras for childbirth classes and postnatal support. There’s no change to the cost of your cover if you add more kids to your policy+ and you can use your extras on the services your family needs most. Call us on 13 13 34 for cover options.
Dependants and students
Kids and young adults listed on your membership are covered at no extra cost under your family cover until the day before they turn 22. If they’re full-time students and single, register them as student dependants and they’ll be covered for no extra cost until the day before they turn 25 or finish full-time study (whichever comes first).
If your children aren’t full-time students but are single, you can cover them until they’re 25 with Extended Family Cover, available on certain levels of cover.
Changes to age of dependants on their parent’s health cover
We’ve been working through the change to age of dependants for health cover so we'll communicate with members about how it’ll impact them as soon as possible. Click here to learn more.
Tools for kids’ mental health
Mental health matters to HCF and recently, our children have needed extra support to navigate change and uncertainty. We’ve teamed up with Netball Australia and child psychology specialists Calm Kid Central to give members practical tools and tips to help kids talk about big feelings, process change and their emotions#.
HCF members with hospital or extras cover can access Calm Kid Central’s online resources and child psychologists at no cost#. Contact our Health and Wellbeing team at email@example.com to find out if you’re eligible.
Navigating Parenthood podcast
Becoming a parent can be the greatest and hardest thing you’ll experience, and our award-winning Navigating Parenthood podcast meets the parents and experts who prove it. In our latest season, Imperfect Parents, our host Jessica Rowe talks to parents about work-life balance, co-parenting and separation, managing device time and what to do when the unexpected happens.
