Shaun Larkin has informed the Board that he will be resigning his position

Sydney, 24 March 2017:  The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HCF, Mr Shaun Larkin, has informed the Board that he will be resigning his position after 20 years of service to the organisation.

Mr Larkin joined HCF as a General Manager in 1997 and after serving in a number of executive roles he was appointed Managing Director in 2009.

Under his stewardship, HCF has cemented its reputation as a strong service provider for members, an employer of choice, and a leading voice in the health sector. During this time he has been a strong and articulate advocate for health policy reform.

His departure comes at a time when HCF is about to embark on a significant transformation program that has been developed over the last 12 months, including new product design, operating systems, and distribution.

Mr Larkin said: "After 20 years with the organisation I felt it was an appropriate time to consider my future goals and direction.

"My departure at this time will allow a new leader to be involved from the beginning in the implementation of the transformation program.

"It has been a privilege to lead such a great organisation and I now look forward to the next stage of my working life."

In the short term, HCF Director, Mr John Barrington will assume the role and oversee the running of the organisation until a new Chief Executive Officer is appointed.
