The following services are paid at Minimal benefits on this level of cover. This helps you save because you won’t pay for what you don’t want:

• Pregnancy and birth related services
• Assisted reproductive services (e.g. IVF, GIFT)

If you’re sure you won’t need specific services in a private hospital then insurance for these services at a Minimal benefit level can save you money.

Minimal benefits only cover the cost of staying in a public hospital shared room.

In a private hospital, if you need to claim on procedures with Minimal benefits such as pregnancy, you may have significant costs such as theatre or labour ward charges to pay.
