  • New branch highlights HCF’s long-term commitment to community

HCF, one of Australia’s leading not-for-profit private health insurers which pays one of the highest rate of returns in benefits to members, is relocating to bigger, better and brighter premises in Albury, as part of its plan to invest in key branches across regional NSW.

The new HCF Albury branch, located at 499 Dean Street, opens this Monday and involves a major refurbishment similar to the design HCF’s flagship store in Sydney’s CBD.

The transformation of the Albury branch, which first opened almost 25 year ago, is designed to create a more open and friendly environment with brighter lighting and more space.

Local Albury Branch Manager, Pam McGrath, said the HCF Albury team was excited about the change and looked forward to welcoming customers to the new branch.

“Dean Street is a great location with plenty of customer parking nearby. This is an exciting change for us, and hopefully the new location will help to attract new customers,” she said.

HCF’s Manager for NSW South Region, Vince DiFalco, said the investment in the Albury branch was very timely. “The Albury branch has been particularly busy in 2009.

We will be working even harder in our new premises to provide an even greater level of support to our local community,” Vince said.

“HCF has one of the biggest regional branch networks of any health fund in NSW, and Albury is important to us. Wherever possible, we prefer to operate as part of the community and deal with members face-to-face. This new branch will help improve our customers’ experience of HCF. It’s another way we deliver more to our members,” he added.

Mr DiFalco said that, as one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit health funds, HCF paid back 90cents in the dollar as benefits, compared to an industry average of only 85 cents.

Advantages of HCF membership include:

  • No excess for hospital stays following accidents or for same-day surgery, unlike most funds.
    • So if you need to go into an HCF private or public participating hospital for same day surgery, you won’t be charged for your hospital accommodation.
  • Only one hospital excess charged per person per year, and no excess charged for dependant children.
    • If your child has to go into hospital, you can focus on getting him/her better and not worry about how much each night is costing.
  • More benefits for dental and optical services than the industry average.
    • Less for you to pay for optical and dental services.
