

The low-cost financial protection benefits offered are available to people aged 16 to 55. They are sold by HCF and issued by HCF Life.
Benefits are not paid for accidents which:
- occur outside Australia or while engaged in professional sport, military service, racing, private aviation or while committing an illegal act;
- happen on or before your first day of cover or result in death within 7 days;
- are a result of a pre-existing condition, intentional self-injury, drug or alcohol abuse, war or insurrection.
The benefit for surgery required as a result of an accident under Accident Cash Advantage and Cash Back Cover, is not paid where surgery is for diagnostic purposes only or is not carried out in an operating theatre, nor for any condition covered by workers compensation or third party liability insurance. The total of all benefits payable is $20,000 for families and $10,000 for singles.
Permanent Disability Benefit Plus is not paid for conditions covered by workers compensation or third party liability insurance. The amount of benefit depends on the extent of the disablement and the total of all benefits payable is $100,000 for singles and $200,000 for families. Up to $100,000 is payable for you and your spouse and up to $10,000 is payable for each of your children.
Cash Back Cover benefits are not paid for conditions covered by workers compensation or third party liability insurance. Benefits for illnesses are payable after 2 months of cover or, if resulting from a pre-existing condition, after 12 months. The total of all benefits payable is $10,000 for singles and $20,000 for families.
The benefit for payment of your HCF contributions will not be paid for:
- the first 30 days you are not working;
- conditions resulting from pregnancy or AIDS;
- any cause in the first 2 months of cover;
- pre-existing conditions in the first 12 months of cover;
- unemployment in the first 12 months with any employer
These products are written in HCF Life’s No.1 Statutory Fund and do not acquire a cash value at any time.

Your policy expires when the total amount payable has been paid or when your premiums fall 2 months in arrears. Any changes to the policy will be notified to you.

This FSG relates to the services provided by HCF in relation to the Step 3 More Protection Options
and Bonus $10,000 accident benefit issued by HCF Life Insurance Company Pty Limited. It is
designed to assist you in deciding whether to use any of the services offered by HCF in this FSG.
It contains information about remuneration paid to HCF and it's staff for the services offered and
how complaints against HCF in relation to these services are dealt with.
If HCF provides general advice about or arranges for the issue of any of these products to you,
we will provide you with a Product Disclosure Statement for that product. This sets out the significant
features of the product and will assist you to compare and make informed decisions about the product.
HCF is licensed to provide general advice about and arrange the issue of life and general insurance
products. HCF Life is a wholly owned subsidiary of HCF. When we issue you with a policy for a More
Protection Option, we do so under a binder that authorises us to enter into that contract of insurance
on behalf of the insurer. The Bonus $10,000 accident benefit is provided by HCF Life through a group
policy issued to HCF.
HCF Life receives the premiums paid for the More Protection Options. HCF receives commission monthly
from HCF Life in relation to the More Protection Options of 40% of the first year's premium plus an
additional commission of 80% of HCF Life's underwriting profit each financial year calculated as
premiums less claims and expenses. HCF's staff receive an incentive depending on the number of More
Protection Option policies they sell. This varies from $3 to $5 a policy. HCF Life receives a premium of
$2.34 per annum single and $4.68 family from HCF for the Bonus $10,000 accident benefit. This is paid
by us and is not an extra cost to you. HCF is a not for profit organisation and all of the income it receives
is applied for the benefit of it's members.
HCF and HCF Life are each responsible for the entire contents of this Combined Financial Services Guide
and Product Disclosure Statement.

Bonus $10,000 accident benefit.
